Local-first by design
Manusly stores your manuscripts, images, and project data primarily on your device. We do not access your local files unless you explicitly use cloud backup.
Account & cloud data
If you create an account, we store your email, hashed password, and cloud project backups on our servers. Cloud backups contain project JSON — treat as sensitive author content.
Payments
Payments are processed by Freemius. We do not store credit card numbers. See Freemius privacy policy for payment data handling.
AI features
If you enable AI, your OpenAI API key is stored locally on your device. Text sent to OpenAI is governed by OpenAI's policies.
